4. Use of Embodia for Practice Management and EMR

We use Embodia as our practice management platform (including all virtual appointments) and for all electronic medical records (EMR). Embodia adheres to privacy and data protection best practices and is compliant with federal and  provincial privacy regulations, specifically the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Document Act (PIPEDA) and the Personal Health Information Act (PHIA). 5. Retention of Your Information

We retain your personal information for as long as necessary to fulfill the purposes outlined in this Privacy Policy, comply with our legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. The Nova Scotia College of Physiotherapists states that members must retain records for a minimum of six years after services were ceased.

We implement a variety of security measures to maintain the safety of your personal information. These measures include encrypted data storage and secure communication protocols. However, even when taking all reasonable precautions no method of transmission over the Internet, or method of electronic storage, is 100% secure, so we cannot guarantee its absolute security.
